HOW DO I FIND A COACH?

Who needs a private coach anyway?

Have you ever wondered how to find a coach?

Here are some basic guidelines:

  • Basic skills skaters who want to skate on Open Freestyle (aka Practice Makes Perfect) Ice should have a coach with them on the ice for safety reasons.
  • Skaters who want to have a skating program to music and/or go to a competition might live to have their own coach, but it is not required.
  • Skaters who are interested in getting one-on-one teaching for skill building usually obtain a private coach.
  • Private lessons are usually recommended (but definitely not required) at about Basic Level 6 (Skating Foundations) and up.  However, private coaches can be obtained at any level.

CLICK ON OUR LINK "PROFESSIONAL STAFF" and see the resumes and contact information for our coaches.  Rink location of each coach is listed.

Keep in mind:  WMFSC does not make arrangements for private lessons.  You need to contact coaches directly to arrange lesson times.  Coaches have different rates, which vary on experience, so please ask the coach directly for the details (how much they charge, how long the lesson is, extra fees for competitions, extra charges for cutting music, etc.)  Please note that WMFSC does not recommend coaches.  We only provide a list of our coaches and the rest is up to the skater and the parent.
